Srijan Pal Singh is an author, public speaker and social entrepreneur. Currently, Srijan Pal Singh is CEO and Co-Founder of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Centre, a non-profit organization working on integrated missions across multiple dimensions in an effort to continue on the vision and works of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
He was born and raised in Lucknow where he went to La Martiniere for schooling. He studied Engineering at Institute of Engineering & Technology, Lucknow and further went to Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad to study management. He was awarded the GOLD MEDAL for the best All-rounder Student of the 2009 batch at IIM-A.
Srijan was appointed as Officer on Special Duty at the Office of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam where he worked as a close aide to the former president on various consulting works. Some of the projects include Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Areas (PURA), Kalam-NSS Initiative for Space based Solar Power, What Can I Give Mission, Research and Public Awareness Project on Koodanakulum Nuclear Plant, Development Plans for various state governments such Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. The PURA concept served as a predecessor to a new mission launched by Government of India in February 2016 as Shyama Prasad Mukherjee National Rurban Mission (SPMNRM) of which Srijan is a Member the Expert Panel. The National Rurban Mission aims to spur social, economic and infrastructure development in rural areas by developing a cluster of 300 Smart Villages across the country. He was the first Advantage Bharat Fellow – a rural immersion fellowship program. The name of the fellowship program was derived from the final book of Dr. Kalam – Advantage India (2015, Harper Collins). He is also the Mentor and Advisor for Uttar Pradesh Start-up Policy – a venture of the Government of Uttar Pradesh to promote entrepreneurship in the state..
Srijan has co-authored three books with Dr APJ Abdul Kalam titled Target 3 Billion, Advantage India and Reignited. Target 3 Billion is a best-selling book on management, development and economics exploring how to uplift the 3 billion people living in abject poverty in the world through enterprise creation and investments. Other books authored by him are What Can I Give – Life Lessons from My Teacher, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam (The most memorable book of the year 2016 – as declared by Amazon India), Smart and Human Building Cities of Wisdom (with G.R.K Reddy), Delhi Metro : Excellence in Management (as a co-author) and Khushhal Va Samridh Vishwa, a hindi adaptation to Target 3 Billion. He has also contributed to some leading dailies like The Hindu, Hindustan Times and Patrika.
Besides, Srijan is also associated with several social projects – Kalam Library Project, Target 3 Billion Initiative, BarefootIT, Nukkad Paltan, Operation Savdhaan, Kalam – NSS Initiative: Space based Solar Power, Project Dharma and many more.
