Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Centre was established in 2015 after the demise of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam (1931-2015), the 11th President of India and the country’s most acclaimed scientist. The Centre stands to take forward the dreams of Dr. Kalam, which he left behind for the nation and world – right upto his very final moment at IIM Shillong. It aims to promote innovations, especially in governance and social enterprises, improve youth participation in national and international development and improve access to education and knowledge in all strata of society.
The Kalam Library Project is one of the unfulfilled dreams of Dr. Kalam, which is based on his philosophy that every youth of the nation should have access to the library as a matter of right for every child. The mission is an optimistic flight to empower the young Kalams of India with the power of Knowledge. The sole objective of Kalam Library Project is to enlighten the young minds. We have been successful in setting up 80+ libraries across 14 states in India and reaching out to over 50,000 student population.
Today, with the resources on Earth being under tremendous pressure, mankind’s unending drive for exploration has been ignited once again. Now more than ever, we are looking for a better life, possibly on our neighboring solar systems and galaxies! Mars Mission India is an earnest endeavor in accessing the habitability potential of the Red Planet, Mars. It also aims to promote Astrobiology as a subject of widespread interest amongst Indian students, Institutions especially targeting and engaging Indian Engineers in the “MINAR” project initiated by the UKCA. We are also designing an overall Space Science curriculum for schools and colleges with a special focus on Astrobiology.
Dr. Kalam said, “The youth need to be enabled to become job generators from job seekers.” With this view, Kalam Centre for Innovation and Incubation of Startups (KCIIS) has been established to create an ecosystem for promoting innovations and develop an end-to-end mentorship and incubation model for potential start-ups for students and alumni of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. K-CIIS also presents a platform and a unique opportunity for startups to not only fuel their entrepreneurial journeys with funding but also build a community of potential investors, customers, business partners and fellow entrepreneurs around them.
Deendayal Research Institute was set up under the inspirational guidance of Bharat Ratna Shri Nanaji Deshmukh and is currently working to validate the philosophy of “Integral Humanism”. The aim of the Institute is to evolve a social system for the transformation of our age-old Indian Society suited to the modern scientific era based on eternal values of Integral Humanism which essentially emphases on developing indigenous development models which have human beings as its core.
